| Description | Maltase in the small intestine is a key enzyme of the carbohydrate absorption in the digestive tract. Maltase, sucrose and lactase are three important kinds of Maltase, which can respective hydrolyze maltose, sucrose and lactose into corresponding monosaccharide then be absorbed by the organism. If the organism lacks lactase or other Maltase, will lead to the disorder of carbohydrate digestion and absorption of food, the Undigested and Unabsorbed carbohydrates get into the large intestine, then be decomposed by bacteria into CO2, H2 and so on, give rise to diarrhea and other symptoms. Maltase acts on the substrate to produce monosaccharide, the monosaccharide produced oxidizing material by Oxidase action.
