| Description | Purified (SDS-PAGE). The lipocalins are a family of around 25 proteins (including alpha 1-microglobulin and beta-lactoglobulin), which are characterized by their ability to bind small lipophilic substances in their hydrophobic core. They thereby serve as transporters of substances like retinal, biliverdins & prostaglandins. There are indications that NGAL is involved in modulation of the inflammatory response and is found in the plasma of patients after stroke. Source: Recombinant corresponding to human NGAL, fused to 6x His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~28.1kD Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot as a control. |
