| Description | Sample Type: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human procalcitonin (PCT) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 1.95pg/ml Range: 7.8-500pg/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human PCT. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human PCT and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for PCT has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any PCT present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for PCT is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells.
