| Description | Lysate. Adenoviridae family. A non enveloped, icosahedral virion, 75-80 nm diameter, double-stranded, linear DNA genome. Varies in clinical manifestation and severity. Symptoms include fever, rhinitis, pharyngitis, cough and conjunctivitis. Contains high concentration of virus and viral components as well as some cellular material. Source: Adenovirus, Strain Adenoid 6, expressed in MRC-5 cells Inactivation: Gamma radiation. Purification: Optimally infected cells are disrupted by sonication and then subjected to low speed centrifugation. The clarified cell lysate is pooled with supernatant from the infected culture and concentrated by cross flow ultrafiltration with a 30,000 molecular weight cut-off. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA with polystyrene and latex solid phases for detection of both IgG and IgM. |
