| Description | Purity ~98% (RP-HPLC, SDS-PAGE). Transforming growth factor betas (TGF Betas) mediate many cell-cell interactions that occur during embryonic development. Three TGF Betas have been identified in mammals. TGF Beta 1, TGF Beta 2 and TGF Beta 3 are each synthesized as precursor proteins that are very similar in that each is cleaved to yield a 112aa polypeptide that remains associated with the latent portion of the molecule. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to human TGF Beta3, a disulfide-linked homodimeric, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 112aa, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~25.45kD Biological Activity: The ED50, as determined by the cell toxicity assay using the WHO Standard 98/608 as a direct comparison, is <0.05ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 20MU/mg.
