MK and PTN (Pleiotrophin) are structural homologs, and are highly conserved among species. MK plays important roles in development and carcinogensis and has several important biological effects, including promotion of neurite extension and neuronal survival. Recombinant Midkine is a 13.4kD protein, comprising of 123 amino acid residues. Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human neutrophils using a concentration range of 0.1-10ng/ml.
