| Description | Purified (SDS-PAGE). TIMP-1 is an inducible glycoprotein, which is synthesized by many different cell types. TIMP-1 binds in a reversible fashion to matrix metalloproteinases, with regions in the N-terminal domain binding to the MMP substrate-binding site. TIMP-1 also functions as erthyroid-potentiating activity via translocation to the nucleus and also in inhibiting apoptosis in B-cells. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa24-207 from human TIMP-1, fused to 6x His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot as a control. |
