| Description | This gene encodes a cell surface glycoprotein which is typically expressed on endothelial cells and cells of the immune system. It binds to integrins of type CD11a/CD18, or CD11b/CD18 and is also exploited by Rhinovirus as a receptor. Sample Type: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and cell lysates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of rat intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and cell lysates. Sensitivity: 24.321pg/ml Range: 78.125-5000pg/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of rat ICAM-1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between rat ICAM-1 and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique.
