IGF2, as known as insulin-like growth factor 2, is mitogenic polypeptide growth factors that stimulate the proliferation and survival of various cell types including muscle, bone, and cartilage tissue in vitro. This protein is a fetal growth factor, influenced by placental lactogen and abundantly expressed by placental trophoblasts. Recombinant human IGF-2 is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 67aa, expressed in E coli. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of MCF-7 cells was found to be 0.85ng/ml. Specific Activity: 1,176 x 10e6 IU/mg. |
