MIP-1 alpha is a member of the CC chemokine family of proteins, which have been shown to be produced by numerous cell types including activated T cells, B cells, monocytes, mast cells and endothelial cells. MIP-1alpha acts as a monocyte chemoattractant and has been shown to act as a stem cell inhibitory factor.
