| Description | Purity ≥90% (10% PAGE coomassie staining). Contains the HDV immunodominant region. Does not contain a fusion partner. Immunoreactive with HDV positive sera. Hepatitis D virus (HDV) is caused by a small circular RNA virus. It is the only member of the genus Deltaviridae. HDV is unusual because it can propagate only in the presence of another virus, the hepatitis B virus (HBV). There are two methods of HDV infection. Transmission occurs either via simultaneous infection with HBV or via infection of an individual previously infected with HBV.
