| Description | Purity ≥ 98% as determined by RP-HPLC, anion-exchange FPLC and/or reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel. Oncostatin M (OSM) is a member of the interleukin-6 family of cytokines. Of these cytokines, OSM is closely related structually, genetically and functionally to leukemia inhibitory factor. However, OSM-specific biological activities have been reported in hematopoiesis and liver development. Description: Recombinant Human OSM produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 227 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 26kD. Recombinant OSM is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Amino Acid Sequence: The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Met-Ala-Ala-Ile-Gly Dimers and Aggregates: Less than 1% as determined by silver-stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis.
