| Description | Purity ≥95%. Erythropoietin, ~34-36kD, normally produced in the kidney and liver, is the principle hormone involved in the regulation of erythrocyte differentiation and the maintenance of a physiological level of circulating erythrocyte mass. Indicated for treatment of neutropenia or anemia secondary to ZDV- or Ganciclovir-induced bone marrow suppression (most effective in patients with endogenous EPO levels < 500IU/ml). Specific Activity: 1.2x10e5 units/mg Assay Used to Measure Bioactivity: Proliferation of reticulocytes in mouse blood is method used for unit measurement and calibrated to the World Health Organization (WHO) standard. |
