| Product Name | PRAK, unactive, Recombinant, Human, His-Tag (p38 Regulated Activated Protein Kinase) |
| Description | Purity ~85%. Purified using Ni-NTA agarose. p38-regulated/activated protein kinase (PRAK) is a 471 amino acid protein with 20-30% sequence identity to the known MAP kinase-regulated protein kinases RSK1/2/3, MNK1/2, and MAPKAP-K2/3. PRAK is activated by stress-related extra-cellular stimuli. The regulatory phosphorylation site of PRAK is Thr182, which is phosphorylated by p38 alpha and p38 beta in vitro. Activated PRAK specifically phosphorylates HSP27 at its physiologically relevant sites in vitro. Recombinant full-length human PRAK with an N-terminal His-tag, expressed in Sf9 cells. Molecular Weight: ~54kD Specific Activity: ~3.5units/mg after activation with SAPK2a/p38 a. Unit Definition: One unit of PRAK activity is defined as 1nmol phosphate incorporated into substrate peptide per minute. PRAK Activation Assay: Unactive PRAK, after activation with 0.06Units of SAPK2a/p38a, phosphorylated PRAK Substrate Peptide (KKLRRTLSVA) 13.5-fold over background |
