| Product Name | PRDX6, Recombinant, Human, aa1-224, His-Tag |
| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE). Peroxiredoxin 6, also known as PRDX 6, is a member of the thiol-specific antioxidant protein family. This protein is a bifunctional enzyme with two distinct active sites. It is involved in redox regulation of the cell and can reduce H2O2 and short chain organic, fatty acid, and phospholipid hydroperoxides. It may play a role in the regulation of phospholipid turnover as well as in protection against oxidative injury. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-224 from human PRDX6, fused to His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~27.1kD (244aa, aa1-224 + His Tag (NT)). Biological Activity: Specific activity is ~95-120 pmole/min/ug. Enzymatic activity was confirmed by measuring the remaining peroxide after incubation of PRDX 6 and peroxide for 20min at RT. Specific activity is defined as the amount of hydroperoxide that 1ug of enzyme can reduce at 25°C for 1 minute. AA Sequence: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MPGGLLLGDV APNFEANTTV GRIRFHDFLG D |
