| Product Name | PRDX1, Recombinant, Human, aa1-199, His-Tag |
| Description | Purity ~90% (SDS-PAGE). Peroxiredoxin-1 in humans is encoded by the PRDX1 gene. This gene encodes a member of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, which reduce hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides. The encoded protein may play an antioxidant protective role in cells, and may contribute to the antiviral activity of CD8 (+) T-cells. It protein may also have a proliferative effect and play a role in cancer development or progression. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-199 from human PRDX1, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~24kD (219aa, aa1-199 NT + His Tag) Biological Activity: Specific activity: ~600-670pmole/min/ug. Enzymatic activity was confirmed by measuring the remaining peroxide after incubation of PRDX 1 and peroxide for 20min at RT. Specific activity is defined as the amount of hydroperoxide that 1ug of enzyme can reduce at 25°C for 1 minute. AA Sequence: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MSSGNAKIGH PAPNFKATAV MPDGQFKDIS |
