| Product Name | MIA, BioAssay™ ELISA Kit (Human) (CD-RAP) |
| Description | MIA, also known as cartilage-derived retinoic acid-sensitive protein (CD-RAP), is a secreted protein expressed in cartilaginous tissue during development and in the adult. MIA was identified based on the fact that it is highly expressed in malignant melanomas, but not in normal melanocytes. MIA has been shown to interact with fibronectin, and promotes invasion and metastasis of melanoma cells, perhaps by blocking integrin-fibronectin interactions. Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human Melanoma Inhibiting Activity (MIA) concentrations in cell culture supernates, serum, plasma, and saliva. Sensitivity: 8.46pg/ml Range: ~15.6-1000pg/ml Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for human MIA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any human MIA present is bound by the immobilized antibody.
