| Description | Purified. EGFR is type I receptor tyrosine kinase with sequence homology to erbB-1, 02, 03, -4. It binds to Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), Transforming Growth Factor-a (TGF- ), Heparin-binding EGF (HB-EGF), amphiregulin, betacellulin and epiregulin. EGFR is overexpressed in tumors of breast, brain, bladder, lung, gastric, head, neck, esophagus, cervix, vulva, ovary, and endometrium. It is predominantly present in squamous cell carcinomas. This recombinant human EGFR comprises amino acids 672-1210 of human EGFR (Accession #P00533), fused with a GST-tag at the N-terminus with thrombin cleavage sites and has a MW of 89.171kD.
