| Product Name | Insulin-like Growth Factor I, Recombinant, Rat (IGF-1) |
| Description | Purity ~97% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC). Insulin-Like Growth Factor I, Recombinant, Rat (IGF1) is a well-characterized basic peptide believed to be secreted by the liver and to circulate in the blood. It has growth-regulating, insulin-like, and mitogenic activities. This growth factor has a major, but not absolute, dependence on Somatotropin. It is believed to be mainly active in adults in contrast to Insulin like Growth Factor 2, which is a major fetal growth factor. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to rat Insulin like growth factor I, a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 70aa, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~7.7kD (181aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Biological Activity: Measured in a serum free cell proliferation assay using MCF7 human breast adenocarcinoma cells. The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.6-3ng/mL. Endotoxin: <1EU/ug (LAL) AA |
