| Description | Control Peptide for 029900. TCR (T cell antigen receptor) recognizes foreign antigens and translates such recognition events into intracellular signals that elicit a change in the cell from a dormant to an activated state. TCR is a heterodimer composed of either a and b or g and d chains. The vast majority of circulating T cells (95%) express the a/b heterodimer while roughly 2-5% express the g/d heterodimer. CD3 chains and the CD4 or CD8 coreceptors are also required for efficient signal transduction through the TCR. The peptide is used for blocking the antibody activity of active TCR Alpha Peptide. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 minutes at 37C.
