| Product Name | Noggin, Recombinant, Mouse |
| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC). Noggin is a secreted polypeptide, originally identified as an antagonist of BMP-4, which binds to and inactivates signal transduction by members of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) superfamily, and plays an essential role in cartilage morphogenesis, joint formation and neural tube fusion, as determined by mouse knockout studies. Noggin is implicated in both early and later developmental stages, and can be used as a tool to differentiate human embryonic stem cells into neural precursor cells. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to mouse Noggin expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~46.4kD (206aa) Activity: Determined by its ability to inhibit ~5ng/ml of BMP-4 induced alkaline phosphatase production by ATDC chondrogenic cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is ~1-2ng/ml of Noggin Applications: Suitable for use in Functional Assays. |
