| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC). Noggin is a secreted polypeptide, originally identified as an antagonist of BMP-4, which binds to and inactivates signal transduction by members of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) superfamily, and plays an essential role in cartilage morphogenesis, joint formation and neural tube fusion, as determined by mouse knockout studies. Noggin is implicated in both early and later developmental stages, and can be used as a tool to differentiate human embryonic stem cells into neural precursor cells. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to mouse NOGGIN, a disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of two 206aa polypeptide chains, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~46.4kD (206aa) Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
