| Description | ImmunoTek™ DAB Stable Liquid Substrate 50X Concentrate, 0.0694mM Staining System for HRPO DAB is widely used for both immunoblotting and immunohistochemical staining techniques. It produces an insoluble end product that is brown in color and insoluble in alcohol. It is supplied as 50X concentrate. DAB is the most common reagent employed for the immunohistochemical detection of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) labeled probes. DAB powder from different sources may show great variability with respect to purity. Histochemical grade material should be pale tan with no purple hue. The purple material is a DAB oxidation product that binds avidly to heme proteins such as myoglobin, hemoglobin and particularly, catalase. Therefore purple by-products should be avoided for histochemical uses. United States Biological provides a stable DAB concentrate manufactured from carefully selected reagents.
