| Product Name | Caspase 10a, active, Recombinant, Human (FLICE2, Mch4) |
| Description | Caspase-10a (also know as Mch4) is a member of the interleukin-1b converting enzyme (ICE) family of cysteine proteases. Similar as other caspases, caspase-10 exists in cells as an inactive proenzyme. During apoptosis, procaspase-10 is processed at aspartate residues by self-proteolysis and/or cleavage by upstream caspases. The processed form of caspase-10 consists of large (18kD) and small (11kD) subunits which associate to form the active enzyme. Recombinant Human Caspase-10a was expressed in E. coli and routinely tested for its ability to enzymatically cleave the colorimetric substrate Ac-IETD-pNA. Useful in screening caspase inhibitors, studying enzyme regulation and kinetics, determining target substrate, or as a positive control in caspase activity assays. We recommend using 1 unit per assay for analyzing caspase activity. Unit Definition: One unit of the recombinant caspase-10a is the enzyme activity that cleaves 1nmol of the caspase substrate IETD-pNA (pNA: pnitroanaline) per ho |
