| Description | Purity ~98% (SDS-PAGE, HPLC). Purified by sequential chromatography. BCA-1/BLC, a CXC chemokine, is expressed in the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, appendix and stomach. It exerts its activities through its only receptor CXCR5. BCA-1/BLC is a potent chemoattractant for B lymphocytes and induces weak chemotactic response in T cells and macrophages. It manifests no activity on neutrophils and monocytes. Source: Recombinant corresponding to 86aa from mouse BLC expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~9.8kD Endotoxin: ≤0.1ng/ug Biological Activity: The biological activity was determined by measuring dose-dependent chemotaxis with murine B lymphocytes. A concentration range of 10-100ng/ml produced significant chemotaxis. BLC, a CXC chemokine, regulates B cell migration to and within lymphoid follicles in most secondary lymphoid organs. The receptor for BLC is CXCR5. |
