| Product Name | PDK1, Recombinant, Human, GST-Tag |
| Description | Purified (~15%). Pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) is a mitochondrial multienzyme complex that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate and is one of the major enzymes responsible for the regulation of homeostasis of carbohydrate fuels in mammals. The enzymatic activity is regulated by a phosphorylation/dephosphorylation cycle. Phosphorylation of PDH by a specific pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase (PDK) results in inactivation. (provided by RefSeq). Tissue specificity: Expressed predominantly in the heart. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa2-437 from human PDHK1, fused to GST-tag at N-terminal, expressed in Sf9 insect cells via a baculovirus expression system. Molecular Weight: ~71.8kD Applications: Suitable for use in the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. |
