| Product Name | HMOX1, Recombinant, Human, aa3-288, His-Tag (Heme Oxygenase 1) |
| Description | Purity ~90% (SDS-PAGE). Heme oxygenase cleaves the heme ring at the alpha methene bridge to form biliverdin. Biliverdin is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase. Under physiological conditions, the activity of he oxygenase is highest in the spleen, where senescent erythrocytes are sequestrated and destroyed. Exhibits cytoprotective effects since excess of free heme sensitizes cells to undergo apoptosis. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa3-288 from human HMOX1, fused to His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~36.6kD AA |
