| Description | This protein is a subunit of a disulfide-linked homotrimeric protein. This protein is an adhesive glycoprotein that mediates cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions. This protein can bind to fibrinogen, fibronectin, laminin, type V collagen and integrins alpha-V/beta-1. This protein has been shown to play roles in platelet aggregation, angiogenesis, and tumorigenesis. Sample Type: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, saliva, breast milk and cell culture supernates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of human thrombospondin 1 (TSP-1) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, saliva, breast milk and cell culture supernates. Sensitivity: 1.776ng/ml Range: 7.813-500ng/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human TSP-1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human TSP-1 and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay™ employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. |
